About Lester Benjamin Rojas Guerrero
A Musical Journey
Lester Benjamin Rojas Guerrero is an acclaimed Singer Songwriter based in Toronto, Canada. Lester first began seeing professional success around 2003, with the release of his first critically acclaimed CD "Quiero llenarme de Ti", success in which song "El Camino de mi Dios" acquired popularity. This talented artist overcame countless obstacles on the way up, and works hard every day in order to keep his musical dream alive. Lester was born in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic on the year 1973.
He enjoyed playing his toy; a homemade drum set made of tomatoes cans and some bottles of milk. Sounds poor no? well he was then given the chance to learn at a local spanish church "Iglesia Camino a Emaus" where he from the first lesson had an interest in the music.
in 1990 at age of 15, he migrated to Toronto Canada where he first lived with his grandmother Doña Pola and his father Juan Rojas, until his mother and brothers also migrated and they lived together for a while., then he became a musician of the reformed church "La Senda" in which he developed himself as a drummer, started practicing the bass guitar and the electric keyboard. He married in 1994 to Christina Rojas, another singer from the local church and they have three beautiful children; Benjamin, Brandon and Amber Rojas.
Lester took his first piano lesson in a Toronto school of music but he gave up the class very early and instead he learned some latin rythms by ear such as merengue, salsa and gospel(spanish). Since the arrival from Dominican Republic Lester had an interest for composing poems and songs. Around the year 2000 Lester took a trip to New York and recorded his first album "Quiero Llenarme de Ti",Released in 2003., then he started doing his own recording and productions until today. He is presently working to do a bilingual English and Spanish mix. so stay tuned!!!.
